Kids 8 – 12 Years
Do you want your child to develop great life skills and learn to defend themselves – then you have come to the right place.
Your child will become focussed, learn how to set goals, work on technique, intensity, speed, perseverance and concentration. Your child will have the determination to succeed. Kenpo karate is as much about challenging ourselves as it is about self defence. Our aim is to make your child a leader, they will learn to defend themselves, their family and their friends. Each week we have inspiring and motivating mat chats which cover topics such as Bullying, Peer Pressure, Stranger Awareness, Growth, Courtesy, Sincerity, Honesty, Courage to name a few.
Whist gaining valuable life skills, we will teach your child an amazing martial art that they can be proud of, one that gives them skills to defend themselves in a wide range of situations.
Assistant and Junior Instructors assist in the kids class so often children will receive one-on-one tuition if they are struggling with a technique. This rolls on through to the teens class where adults will often assist teens before commencing their own class. Assistant and Junior instructors play a pivotal role in not only assisting students but reinforcing their own techniques, which is a win/win situation for all.

WHAT OUR KIDS SAY!
We enrolled our eldest child (aged 8) in the kids classes about a year ago. Football/Soccer wasn’t for him and he indicated an interest in learning martial arts.
I’ve been impressed by the balance between an inclusive, nurturing and compassionate, but disciplined, environment. Our son has absolutely flourished here in terms of confidence and self-discipline.
A wonderful environment for young and old alike. Highly recommended.
I like that there are lots of girls who belong to our dojo and I really enjoy working with the older girls who are black belts. The teachers are very encouraging and really want us to work at a high standard.
Hine Peehia really enjoys being taught not only by the instructors but also young black belts. They are inspiring to her and she loves being around them.
My children like that they are split into groups according to level and that each student gets a lot of time to work with an instructor. The warm ups are always different and grading is well organised and makes them push themselves and persevere. I like that it is not only about self defence but also discipline, making the right choices and the importance of values. The teachers are continuous learners themselves and lessons are effective. My children really love Kenpo and are excited to go to lessons.
